The NYFF Revivals section celebrates films that have been restored, preserved, or digitally remastered, bringing both landmarks of cinema history and overlooked discoveries to new audiences [...] Showcasing classics, rarities, and rediscovered gems, the section highlights films whose artistic innovation, cultural significance, and enduring influence remain as compelling today as when they were first made.
This year, the Revivals section of the 64th New York Film Festival will include 12 feature films and two programs of rare short films. We are pleased to announce that L'Immagine Ritrovata Group will participate in this prestigious festival by presenting 3 restored features and both the shorts programs.

IN WHICH ANNIE GIVES IT THOSE ONES

An English-language Indian film, In Which Annie Gives It Those Ones was originally made for television and circulated exclusively on VHS for many years. The new 4K restoration, a North American premiere, will finally bring this deeply pleasurable film to the big screen, where it belongs.
The restoration, commissioned and funded by the Film Heritage Foundation, was carried out in collaboration with director Pradip Krishen using the best available source materials: the 16 mm camera negative and sound negative preserved at the NFDC-National Film Archive of India, and the 35 mm release print preserved at the Film Heritage Foundation itself.
JUST LIKE WEATHER / 美國心
Allen Fong
1986, 95', Hong Kong
Allen Fong’s captivating, ahead-of-its-time third feature is an iconic work of the Hong Kong New Wave and one of the great films about married life.
The 4K restoration, a world premiere at the NYFF, was made using the original 16mm picture negative, the 35mm reversal intermediate, and the 35mm optical sound negative preserved at the Hong Kong Film Archive, Leisure and Cultural Services Department, and is part of the “M+ Restored” program, an initiative supported by CHANEL.
REPORT TO MOTHER / AMMA ARIYAN
John Abraham
1986, 115', India
John Abraham’s latest film, Report to Mother, is an extraordinary work characterized by political commitment and aesthetic experimentation.
This 4K restoration, a U.S. premiere at the NYFF, brings one of the most significant feature films in South Indian cinema back to the big screen. The project was curated and funded by the Film Heritage Foundation at our laboratories, in collaboration with Digital Film Restore Pvt. Ltd. and Odessa Collective, with the support of cinematographer Venu ISC and editor Bina Paul. The restoration is based on one of the only two surviving prints: the first-generation 35mm release print preserved at the NFDC-National Film Archive of India.
PELECHIAN PROJECT PROGRAM 1
Artavazd Pelechian
1964–1975, 79', USSR/Armenia

This project includes four short films by Artavazd Pelechian:
- Mountain Patrol / Լեռնային պարեկներ, 1964, 10', North American Premiere
- Land of the People / Մարդկանց երկիրը, 1966, 11', U.S. Premiere
- We / Մենք, 1969, 27', U.S. Premiere
- The Seasons / Տարվա եղանակները, 1975, 31', U.S. Premiere
Restored under the supervision of the director, now 88,these short films blur the lines between documentary essays and poetic avant-garde. The project was launched by Coproduction Office in collaboration with the Cineteca di Bologna. The director personally selected the best available footage, which was digitized in 4K at the Public Television Company of Armenia and entrusted to our laboratories for restoration and color grading. The project also benefits from the support of the Cinema Foundation of Armenia, VGIK, ZDF/ARTE, ArMa Media Production LLC, and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
